Functionalized surfaces of biochips, biosensors and other substrates can bind target biomolecules (protein, antibody, enzyme, polypeptide, DNA, etc.) while rejecting unwanted ones. Bioinert coating on biomedical devices can reduce immune rejection, thrombosis, allergy and friction. Sofchip has recently developed breakthrough coating technologies that solve the typical problems in biochips and biomedical devices. Sofchip supplies a large variety of biochips, functionalized chromatography media and gold nanoparticles to satisfy research and industry requirements. Many of our products use hydrophilic polymers (e.g., polysaccharides) as coating materials that have been proved to be the best candidates for interfacing biomolecules. The long polymer chains bearing functional groups extend out to provide more sites to immobilize biomolecules than short monolayer chains do; while the hydrophilic nature of the surface removes the hydrophobic interaction with unwanted biomolecues. Our products have features such as high stability, high biocompatibility, low background noise, and high portion of covalent bonding.
Our products and services include:

Biochips can examined under different instruments (e.g., microarray scaner, optical microscopy, electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, ellipsometry, and infrared spectroscopy) for different purposes. Applications of biochips include studing protein-protein interaction, gene expression, protein profiling, antibody screening, immunoassay and other bioanalytical applications. Our biocompatible coatings can be applied on plastics, glass, metal and other substrates. The coatings are ultrathin and can retain their function up to years.
